Overview
This service provides support in promoting knowledge and awareness of Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation approaches, methods and tools that help document and understand food systems change. The Systems Monitoring Learning and Evaluation (MLE) initiative aims to promoting knowledge and awareness among donors, governments, MLE practitioners and other international development professionals of MLE approaches, methods and tools that are aligned with – and can help to introduce – a new development paradigm for working with food and other complex systems. Where this has worked
UNDP is currently working on a small number of pilots advising projects/programs/teams to introduce systems monitoring, learning and evaluation approaches. There are no case studies on these pilots available yet, but a number of blogs on the topic can be found at the link in the ‘additional resources’ section below.
Eligibility
UNDP countries with a national pathway and National Convenor appointed.
Cost and funding
The amount depends on the scope and depth of the advisory support required (it can go from an introductory session on systems MLE to comprehensive advisory on the introduction of a new systems-oriented monitoring system).
Time period
This depends on the type of advisory required.

To request this service, National Food Systems Convenors are invited to submit a request to the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub (the Hub). The Hub will review each request and reach out directly to the National Convenor to connect them with the service provider.
