Eligibility

The Alliance Bioversity CIAT primarily operates in the global south in low- and middle-income countries. Initiatives are usually carried out in the Americas, Africa and Asia. The organization prioritizes countries willing to commit to long-term engagements, to drive meaningful food system transformation processes at the national and subnational scale. Their tools are free and publicly available; however their direct engagement will prioritize a limited number of countries willing to document and learn from the process to then share their insights with others. Requests for assistance are evaluated by the organization on a case-by-case basis.

Cost and funding

The Alliance Bioversity is a project-based organization that requires financial support particularly in countries where it does not currently have research activities. Costs can vary depending on the support required and need to be covered by national governments or donor agencies.

Duration of support

The extent of the time period depends on the complexity of the request and is assessed on a case-by-case evaluation. Normally support processes can start within 3 months of a signed agreement and budget.
