Additionally, the service aids in the selection of diverse local crops for production and consumption, with a focus on enhancing public food procurement systems to encourage sustainable and resilient local food systems. This comprehensive approach empowers countries to develop and implement strategies that build long-term food security and resilience at the national and local levels.

Where this has worked
A scoping mission was organized to support the DRC to identify specific crops and requirements for building local food supply chains around those crops.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for this service requesting countries need to be partners of the Resilient Local Food Supply Chains Alliance.
Cost and funding
Some costs will be minimal, but if there are costs then the country will be supported in the mobilization of the required resources.
Time period
As soon as the logistics can be mobilized and within the timeframe of the required assistance.
