Overview
This service provides support for facilitating multistakeholder joint scoping and planning processes for food systems transformation. In collaboration with the Global Network Against Food Crises and the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub, it assists in organizing consultations with in-country stakeholders to identify and address gaps in food systems transformation. When needed and upon request, the service offers targeted expertise, engages with research institutions or academia, and directly supports national convenors in coordinating multistakeholder planning processes to ensure effective, inclusive, and context-specific solutions.

Where this has worked
The HDP Nexus Coalition, in collaboration with entities like IGAD, the Global Network Against Food Crises (GNAFC), the SUN movement and the UNFSS Hub has already undertaken discussions with different countries, including:
- Ethiopia
- Somalia
- Sudan
Eligibility
The support needs to be requested by a National Convenor from a country classified as fragile.
Cost and funding
The estimated cost for each mission is $12,000, covering a one-week engagement for two staff members. Funding can be provided by the requesting country or a partner organization.
Duration of support
The time between the request for support and the delivery of the mission outcomes can take up to six months.

To request this service, National Food Systems Convenors are invited to submit a request to the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub (the Hub). The Hub will review each request and reach out directly to the National Convenor to connect them with the service provider.
