Aligning youth efforts towards UNFSS+4: A global youth task force takes shape

Youth aren't waiting for change – they're building it. As the UN Food Systems Summit +4 Stocktake (UNFSS+4) approaches, a new global task force is taking shape to elevate youth leadership on food systems transformation.
This Global Youth Task Force aims to unify youth voices and drive coordinated engagement in the lead-up to the Stocktake this July 2025 in Addis Ababa.
This work is a joint effort of the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub (the Hub), the World Food Forum (WFF), the Youth representatives of the Stakeholder Engagement and Networking Advisory (SENA) Group, the Youth Constituencies and Regional Caucuses of the Major Group of Children and Youth (MGCY), and other partners.
At the heart of the task force's work is the renewal of the 2021 Youth Declaration on the occasion of the UN Food Systems Summit, with initial ideas shaped by regional consultations and youth inputs from the Regional Preparatory Meetings, and refined at the upcoming Preparatory Youth Conference in Bangkok this May. The final declaration – developed through continued global inputs by the Youth Task Force – will be jointly presented at UNFSS+4 in Ethiopia.
This is more than a declaration. It’s a call for action and accountability, led by youth, for youth, and for the future of food systems.
