10 December, 16:45 – 17:30 (Dubai / GMT+4) – The Nordic Pavilion, Blue Zone, COP28

The event will bring together experts and thought leaders to highlight the interconnectedness between food systems, health, nutrition, and climate. How can we eat for our health while preserving the health of our planet? What interventions can be put in place to promote sustainable food systems and just food environments?
The event will be followed by the reception “Food and Health for Climate Action” co-hosted by the Nordic Council of Ministers and Finland. Additional partners for the reception will be confirmed shortly.
Expected key takeaways
- Action is needed to transform food systems to be more resilient and sustainable and able to support healthy diets.
- Public policies and strategies are required to improve the availability and price of foods that promote healthy and sustainable diets.
- School meal programmes should be prioritized and highlighted as the most politically influential and extensive initiative within public food systems.
- The food industry should show the way by increasing the availability and affordability of healthy, sustainable food options to reduce the environmental footprints of our food systems.
- The Nordic Nutrition Recommendations is an open resource to support healthy and sustainable diets worldwide.
