This event will bring together representatives from national governments, UN agencies, and non-state actors to showcase progress in aligning climate action with food systems transformation since COP28. It will spotlight the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub's Convergence Initiative, a strategic framework designed to address key gaps and promote integrated action across food systems and climate goals. The session will examine challenges, share lessons learned, and emphasize the urgency of accelerating this convergence to achieve the SDGs and meet Paris Agreement targets, featuring best practices from Nordic countries that have effectively aligned food and climate strategies.
Expected key takeaways:
- Explore how national governments and stakeholders can accelerate the convergence of food systems transformation and climate action to achieve the SDGs and meet Paris Agreement targets.
- Draw lessons and best practices from pilot countries with Convergence Action Blueprints and explore scaling these frameworks for system-wide, integrated changes at the national level.
