CFS Side Event: Converging Food Systems and Climate Action for Better Food Security and a Sustainable Future

On 21 October 2024, from 13:30-14:45 CEST, during the 52nd Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) at FAO’s headquarters in Rome, Italy, a side event “The Convergence Initiative: Converging Food Systems and Climate Action for Better Food Security and a Sustainable Future’ is taking place.

The event will bring together countries and partners to discuss the urgent need and actionable insights for aligning food systems transformation with climate action agendas. It will showcase the work of various programs and organizations and articulate the Convergence Initiative’s framework as a tool for achieving food security and environmental safeguarding. This event will also explore synergies with existing CFS tools, examine how resource partners can provide support at the national level and prioritize developing countries in the context of food systems and climate agendas. This side event is organized by the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub (the Hub), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Netherlands, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates COP28 Presidency, the European Commission and the NDC Partnership.
